Peter Van Dorn looks after customer acquisition and partner development at PointsHound. Before cofounding PointsHound, Pete spent 6 years running business development for Switchfly, a SaaS platform for airlines, hotels, and loyalty programs. Prior to Switchfly, Pete was an early member of the Hotwire.com team where he held various marketing roles leading up to the company's acquisition by Expedia. Pete received a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Colgate University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Head of Product
Chris Boyd looks after product development and marketing analytics at PointsHound. Before cofounding PointsHound, Chris spent 6 years in various product development roles at Switchfly, most recently as Vice President of Loyalty Products. Prior to Switchfly, Chris spent 8 years at Travelocity, where he led the launch of Travelocity's loyalty platform, launch of Travelocity's joint venture with Zuji in Asia Pacific, and led the technical integration of both World Choice Travel and Preview Travel. Chris started in the travel industry in 1994, as a systems engineer for an incentive travel arm of Carlson Marketing Group. Chris received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California.
Head of Technology
Owen Tran handles anything with a buzzy acronym at PointsHound. He spent 7 years as Chief Technology Officer at Switchfly running their SaaS travel packaging platform. Before that he helped implement Hotwire's second-generation travel platform and managed the air and packaging verticals for 5 years . Prior to Hotwire, Owen co-founded a dial-up startup called Merado Software that was later acquired by PeoplePC. Owen received a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Columbia University.
Senior Product Manager
Oz is product owner of PointsHound.com. Before joining the PointsHound team, Oz spent nearly 2 years in product & project management roles at Switchfly, most recently managing a team of product managers. Before moving to the USA, Oz spent 5 years at Avios in the UK, where he led the implementations of Switchfly and other technical innovations on the Avios, British Airways and Iberia frequent traveler platforms. Oz started in the travel industry in 2002 at lastminute.com working as a hotel buyer as well as helping design and build partner facing extranet solutions. Oz received a bachelor's degree in International Tourism Management from the University of Brighton.
Lead UX Designer
Craig Guenther-Lee is the User Interaction Lead for the consumer product in San Francisco, California. Most recently he was the UX lead on the native app team at Hotwire. He has a passion for travel and has been fortunate to have worked in the industry for close to 10 years. Prior to landing in his current work, he received a culinary degree in San Francisco and cooked professionally for nearly 6 years.
Yiyang is a product manager on Pointshound.com and related PointsTravel products, with focuses on data analytics, A/B testing and marketing promotions. Before that, she spent nearly 2 years in Accenture consulting, developing eCommerce sites and tracking product launches. Grew up in China, Yiyang came to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for college, then decided to take an adventure out west in California. She strives to be a life-long learner and wants to bring the best travel experiences to consumers. Yiyang is also a huge fan of baking, skiing, and board games.
Senior Development Engineer
Pickles lends her likeness to PointsHound as its logo model and mascot. A nine-year-old Puggle, Pickles many achievements include a Dog of the Month award from her local dog supply shop, and the prestigious Dog of the Week designation on Dogster.com. Largely self-taught, Pickles excels at sniffing out food and is always hungry. In her spare time, she enjoys chewing.
